   Vince Corning has held leadership positions in engineering, marketing and business development at leading technology companies, including Intel and Compaq. He has been involved with IT outsourcing since 1995. As VP, Product Development for Jetque responsible for technical marketing and engineering, Mr. Corning spearheaded efforts to move engineering offshore, successfully sourcing to a development group in Kiev, Ukraine and a software provider in Montreal, Canada. Prior to Jetque, Mr. Corning was Director, Strategic Marketing for Intel Corporation's Converged Communication Platform Group and the business unit's primary interface to Intel Capital, responsible for business unit investments in the $150M CT Media Fund. After co-founding Picazo Communications in 1997, Mr. Corning played a primary role in the company's acquisition by Intel in 2000. Responsible for business development, channel development and product marketing, he was a primary in Picazo's acquisitions of Dash Open Phone Systems, Algo Communications, and Compaq's NetACD technology. At Compaq, Mr. Corning held various engineering positions and was responsible evaluating OEM and acquisition opportunities for the Networking division. He played key roles in the integration of software development teams during the acquisitions of Thomas Conrad and Networth. Mr. Corning holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University.

   Silicon Valley Outsourcing's CEO, Vince Corning, has been honored with a request from TiE to speak at the event on the topic of global service distribution. "The companies in the TiEcon Spotlight are perfect examples of the entrepreneurial spirit that bubbles throughout Silicon Valley," says Vish Mishra, Convener of TiEcon 2004 and a TiE director. "TiEcon is a unique environment providing entrepreneurs, industry professionals and business visionaries a forum to discuss emerging trends, explore best practices, and learn how to profit in a surging world economy." Mr. Corning was recently quoted, as follows, in the National Association of Business Economists' April 2004 New Letter Opinion Panel on Offshore Outsourcing. "To date, offshore outsourcing has had very little direct impact on employment. Most of the limited employment gains can be attributed to other macroeconomic factors such as increased worker productivity and improvements in capital efficiency. As a result of the infrastructure created during semiconductor, computer, and Internet revolutions over the past three decades, we're beginning the inevitable transition to a fully geographically distributed workforce. We must embrace the global changes and focus on providing support infrastructure and policy that positions U.S. businesses and workers to compete effectively on a global level. This means identifying and building U.S. core competencies while creating policies that develop the United States as the preeminent place to host and conduct global business." Mr. Corning is one of seven representatives of offshore outsourcing companies who will present innovative business models for leveraging global resources.
