   Brian Cornick , 69 , from Telford , Shropshire , has booked a nine- day holiday to India with Kuoni , departing on Good Friday. With the threat of this strike , we don't want to take a chance , but when I telephoned the company , I was told I would not receive a refund if I cancel , he said.
   
   A spokeswoman for Kuoni said it would look at each case individually and would offer Mr Cornick an alternative travel date at no extra charge. Clients who have taken out our insurance policy would be eligible to submit a claim either under `travel delay' or `abandonment' , he said. At present , we are not offering free cancellations for this proposed strike because it is outside our control..
   
   A spokesman for the Federation of Tour Operators said passengers might be eligible to compensation if their tour operator was forced to cancel the holiday because of a strike. However , in a delay , the operator's main duty is to get its clients to their destination.
   
   Strikes are often a game of brinkmanship and we hope that the situation will be resolved , he said.
