Tom Cornicelli
A native of Long Island, NY, Captain Tom Cornicelli has been professionally guiding for more than 20 years and he has received widespread acclaim for his combined talents as an artist and full time waterfowl and fishing guide. As a high profile charter boat captain and angler, Tom is a five-time I.G.F.A. It all started in the salt marshes of Long Island. In those days Tom carved decoys for hunting. After being urged by a friend to attend some of the local carving shows, Tom's work quickly became competitive at the "world class" level of competition.Since 1992 he has consistently placed in the numerous carving shows throughout the county. In 2004 he was awarded "Best in Show" World Gunning Pairs and "Best in Show "at the Ward Foundations Chesapeake Challenge competition Silhouette Division. At the Ward Foundations 2005 World Carving competition he again was awarded "Best in Show "honors in the World Gunning Pairs Division. His energy and enthusiasm for his craft have never been greater and have not gone unnoticed as recently, he was recruited by Avery Outdoors to compliment their Greenhead Gear line of decoys and carved the Over-Size Canvasback Drake that was introduced in 2005. -
