Lee Barrett Cornett, 25, of Fayetteville was traveling south on Dead Horse Mountain Road at a high rate of speed, according to the Arkansas State Police report. Shortly after navigating a sweeping right curve, he lost control of his 2003 BMW 5301 and left the roadway on the east side of the road, according to the report. The car vaulted 80 feet into the air and landed upside down in the river. Road conditions were dry and the weather was clear at the time of the accident. According to the report, Cornett was the only person in the accident. Cornett was a 2000 graduate of Russellville High school and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Russellville.
