Miss Ashley Corness

Hugh Baird College Design Display student, Ashley Corness, has won the gold medal in the BDS 2006 National Student Design Competition, an annual showcase for students completing a British Display Society course.

Ashley, 17, was awarded the BDS Gold Medal together with three industry-donated awards - the Adel Rootstein Trophy, the SDEA Trophy and the Credo Trophy, presented by the Credo Business Group (secretaries to the Society). Ashley, formerly from Alsop High School, completed the BDS Certificate in Display Design last year and is currently near to the first year completion of the BDS Advanced National Diploma in Display Design at Hugh Baird College.She said: "I have really enjoyed every aspect of the course in the last year and I am really pleased to have won this award.

Three other Hugh Baird College students were also awarded.
