As Balance Point's medical director, Dr. Copeland consults with the clinic's staff for each patient's plan of care. Dr. Copeland holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience as well a medical degree and training in Otology/Neurotology and Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He has published significant research on ear and neck conditions and treatments and has won numerous awards.

Otologist Benjamin Copeland provides specialized, comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of ear and skull base conditions.

Dr. Copeland received his BA in Biology from Wittenburg University where he was a member of the honors program and graduated Cum Laude.He earned his PhD in Neuroscience from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and later became an MD after attending medical school at Ohio State.

Dr. Copeland completed fellowship training in Otology/ Neurotology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, as well as a residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. Copeland has completed and published significant research on ear and neck conditions and treatments and has earned numerous awards, including induction into the Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Honor Society.

Dr. Copeland will practice in our North and South Main offices.When he isn't concentrating on medicine, Dr. Copeland enjoys traveling with his wife and children, scuba diving and gardening.

Leading the center is Dr. Benjamin Copeland, M.D., Ph.D., one of a few board-certified neurotologists in the state of Indiana. Neurotology is a sub-speciality of otolaryngology (Ear Nose Throat) and focuses on the neurology and neurosurgery of the ear. This highly specialized area includes the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of balance disorders.

Dr. Copeland and his team take a multidisciplinary approach to what is usually a multi-faceted problem. Imbalance and dizziness often are not due to one but rather several causes. Together, these causes that in isolation might seem insignificant can result in dizziness, loss of balance and stability, and thus a lowered quality of life.

Dizziness and imbalance are not normal parts of aging and they're not something to just put up with. No matter what your age or other medical issues, Dr. Copeland and his highly experienced audiologists and physical therapists can assess your situation, run appropriate tests, and develop a specific plan of care to help you feel better.

Dr. Ben Copeland earned his MD and PhD at Ohio State University.He served as an intern in General Surgery, resident in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and clinical and research fellow in Otology/Neurotology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.Dr. Copeland is currently a clinical instructor at the Indiana University School of Medicine in the Otolaryngology Department, as well as with the Family Practice Residency at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.Dr. Copeland's history includes research in cochlear function.Dr. Copeland is currently a physician partner at Otolaryngology Associates, LLP and the Medical Director at Balance Point and Whisper Hearing Centers in Indianapolis.
