Laurie is originally from Boone, Iowa but has lived in the Cedar Rapids area for 30 years.She graduated from Boone High School and attended one year of Junior College.After graduating from Cosmetology School and working for a year in that industry, she and a partner purchased a hair replacement business which she owned and operated for 22 years.

She sold the business to help take care of her grandchildren, which are her passion, for eight months, they are now three and one year old respectively.When that time had passed she really missed working outside of the home and came to MidAmerican Aerospace in January of 2007.

Laurie enjoys fishing with her husband and has been a member of the Linn County Blues Society.
