Presentation: San Diego State University, now a comprehensive university with over 39,000 students and $160 million annually in research projects, began with seven original Spanish Mission-style buildings in the 1930's, was diverted from the original aesthetics during decades-long expansion periods, and has today redirected the campus architecture to return to a Spanish form that both respects the past and rejoices in the future.
About the Speaker: The office of Facilities Planning, Design and Construction is responsible for all capital planning and development programs for San Diego State University, including campus master planning, state and non-state funded capital program planning and development, campus architecture and engineering, design and construction.Lauren has been employed as an architect and planner with SDSU Facilities Planning since 1984, has earned a Bachelor's and two Master's degrees at SDSU and is currently pursuing a doctorate from the School of Policy, Planning, and Development at USC.
