While in Nashville, Allan performed on numerous commercial studio backups and acted as Vice Chairman of the Middle TN Music Industry Students Assoc. an organization sponsored by Tom T. Hall, Nashville Recording Artist and Producer.

While working with this organization Allan received the nick-name "Dr of Funk, Jive, Jazz and Junk" from the Producer of the chart topping song "Take This Job and Shove It" released by Johnny Paycheck.Along the way, Allan has had the pleasure of performing behind jazz feature artists including Kai Winding, Larry London, Bud Brisbois and Don Sheffield.
