MOBILE, Ala. -- Spring Hill head softball coach Alison Cook was named the interim head volleyball coach for the 2006 season announced Monday by athletic director Scott Westbrook.

Cook is entering her second season at the helm of the Lady Badger softball team and hopes to continue Spring Hill's success on the volleyball court.

"We are looking forward to having Coach Cook step into the position and continue the SHC volleyball winning tradition."

After losing five seniors from last season, Cook has her work cut out for her before the 2006 season begins on Sept. 6 at Montevallo.

"I am honored for Coach Westbrook to think of me for this position," said Cook.
