Alisa Cook, MSW
Adoption Social Worker
Alisa grew up in the Bakersfield, California area and moved to Southern California for college.
She received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Southern California College and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Loma Linda University.
Alisa has a wide experience in the field of social work.
She began her career as a probation counselor working with incarcerated youth.
After that she worked for a community based program, designing programs, writing grants, and providing direct service to youth and their families.
Some of these porgrams included a teen dads class, Aids education, drug and alcohol education and an award winning domestic violence prevention program which was presented in high schools throughout the area.
Alisa wanted to work with younger children so she switched to child protective services where she worked for over five years doing every program from emergency response to adoptions.
Alisa currently works part-time for a hospice and provides grief counseling for terminally ill patients and their families.
She has worked for Adoption Options since August 2006.
