David is a member of New Century Community Church where his wife Debra and daughter Rachel are also members. David also has two daughters and sons-in-law that live outside of Roanoke, Jaime and Jed Redcay and Abbey and Justin Howlett . David has two grandsons, Simeon and Titus Redcay. David is a former member of the Botetourt Jaycees and the Cave Spring Lions Club. He is currently a member of Gideons International as well as the Virginia and National Funeral Directors Association. David enjoys travel and golf in his spare time.

David was born in Bluefield, West Virginia and moved to Roanoke with his parents in 1973.He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke in 1975 and earned his mortuary degree from Cincinnati School of Mortuary Science in 1978.

David is a long time member of Cave Spring Baptist Church where his wife Debra and three children, Jaime, Abbey and Rachel attend.David has served as a Deacon, Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, and Chairman of the Personnel Committee.

David is a former member of the Botetourt Jaycees and the Cave Spring Lions Club.He is currently a member of the Gideons International as well as the Virginia and National Funeral Directors Association.

David enjoys golfing and travel in his spare time.
