Jon Constantine

FarePoint.co.uk, the travel agents, low cost fares database provider has appointed Jon Constantine as their new Managing Director.

Constantine was the original founder of Farebase Ltd in 1989 but subsequently sold the company to Phonelink plc in 1999.He remained with the company until April this year.

Commenting on the move, Constantine said, ,Owning and running a company on your own behalf is a real challenge and I built Farebase up from a back room business to the point where it could be sold to a stock exchange listed company.Running a company for somebody else is not the same and I prefer the challenge and independence that a small company offers.FarePoint has been a competitor to Farebase since 1994 but has lacked investment.I intend to rectify that situation and make it a leading provider of low cost fares information to the travel industry.,

Constantine added, ,FarePoint is a totally web based product with no old legacy software to support.It operates on high speed web servers and consequently is extremely fast.I am very excited at the prospect this appointment presents and will be making further announcements soon with regard to new developments.,
