Jan Constantine Named EVP Of News America Incorporated
lineNew York, NY, January 31, 2001 - News Corporation today announced that Jan Constantine has been named Executive Vice President of News America Incorporated.Ms. Constantine will retain her positions as Senior Vice President of News Corporation, Senior Deputy General Counsel of News America Incorporated and General Counsel of News America Marketing and Publishing Groups.

Ms. Constantine has been with News America since 1991, working principally with the News America Marketing Group and the News America Publishing Group, including the New York Post and TV Guide.She is responsible for News America's legal affairs, supervising the work of the in-house legal department as well as that of outside counsel.In addition, she advises employees of News Corporation on intellectual property, employment law and Internet legal issues.
Prior to joining News Corporation, Ms. Constantine was Deputy General Counsel for Macmillan, Inc., a multi-national conglomerate engaged in publishing, information services, and language instruction.Before her employment with Macmillan, Ms. Constantine was Deputy Chief of the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office.Previously, she worked at the New York Regional office of the Federal Trade Commission and, before that, at the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Constantine is a longstanding member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York and is currently the Chair of the Committee on Communications and Media Law.She also serves on the Media Law Committee of the New York State Bar Association and is a member of the Board of Directors of The Feminist Press at CUNY.
