His mother was Mary Reichert Conlin, a pianist, who taught at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee.
Mr. Conlin, who wintered most of his life in Palm Beach, was confined to a wheelchair since 2002 after suffering an aneurism behind his right knee, which led to an amputation and kidney dialysis.
Mr. Conlin attended Columbia University in New York.Following graduation, a few years at NBC and a stint in the U.S. Army, he worked for John R. Fitzgerald of Rye Beach, N.H., known as the Novelty King.
He lived in Amherst, Mass., and later returned to New York City.
In the 1950s, he established Conlin Associates, a concert management firm in New York.
Mr. Conlin adjudicated piano and vocal competitions.For decades he presented the annual winners of such competitions as the World Piano Competition of Cincinnati, the National Chopin Piano Competition and the Palm Beach Invitational International Competition.
He was president of the Musicians Club of New York.
Mr. Conlin also managed a travel agency and, in the late 1980s, became general manager of Palm Beach Opera.
