    Mary Ellen Conlee Owner, Conlee Consulting Group Ms. Conlee has been providing lobbying services in Kansas for more than 30 years.  Prior to opening her own consulting firm, Ms. Conlee served as the Director of Public Affairs for the City of Wichita from 1979 - 1984.  In that capacity, she directed all Public Affairs activities including community relations, media relations and legislative liaison activities as well as employee newsletter preparation and production.  In addition, she established radio and TV coverage for the City commission meetings through a joint effort with Wichita State University, setting up both radio and cable TV studios at City Hall. In addition to operating her Kansas-based lobbying consulting firm, Ms. Conlee owned a full service marketing, advertising and public relations firm, Cope Daley McCrea, in Breckenridge, CO from 1987 through 1999. The Colorado firm developed and managed the summer marketing activities for the Town of Breckenridge and the Resort Chamber of Commerce as well as representing several area resorts and the Colorado community College in Breckenridge. Conlee holds a BA in Economics from Bates College, Master in Arts in Teaching from Smith College, plus 30 hours of graduate public administration courses from Wichita State University.

    Mary Ellen Conlee, a lobbyist for Via Christi Health Systems, which helps support the program, said the group wanted the state to use money from the general fund.

    "I don't know if we solve our doctors problem if we raid the university budget," she said.
