   Tricia Collins, director of the Gadsden Arts Center noted, "These two artists utilize different mediums. It takes years to build the necessary understanding of mixtures of cloth, bronze, plastics and other mediums and turn it into productive art.
   
   "It is exciting to see the reactions of people who see both artists work," she said. "Many people react to Williams' bronze sculptures with amazement as to the creativity of color and materials. Then they look at Lewis' work and although in the mosaics and sculptures, both use the African-American focus, they are so decidedly different that they both capture the attention of the viewer," said Collins.
   
   "Both of these artists pique the interest of not only fanatical art lovers, but puts awe into the hearts of Gadsden's African-American youth and, hopefully, stimulates them to want to become artists also," she said. The Gadsden Arts Center is located at 13 N. Madison St. in Quincy, across from the courthouse Square, (850) 875-4866.
