Mark, Roger and Maureen used to live together with Tom Collins, a computer nerd who teaches on-and-off at NYU and MIT.
...
Collins gets mugged and then a street drummer named Angel finds him and takes Collins home with him to fix him up.They then burst in on Roger and Mark, Angel in full drag, because Angel just earned $1000 killing a dog for a rich woman.Angel and Collins go off to an AIDS support group, because they are both infected.Mark agrees to go because he's shooting a documentary, but Maureen calls him begging him to help Joanne set up the show.Roger, an ex-drug user, who we learn also got HIV from his ex-girlfriend who is now dead, stays home because he's crotchety. But he won't be alone for long...a little vixen from downstairs named Mimi comes up to visit and flirt...apparently she hasn't kicked drugs like Roger has.
Mimi is a stripper too...and after work one night she is high as a kite and asks Roger to take her out.Roger freaks out, recognizing everything that used to be wrong with him, and throws her out.Meanwhile, Mark meets Joanne...to his horror...and they complain together about how flirty Maureen is but how much they love her.Later, Roger apologizes to Mimi and invites her to Maureen's protest and the after-dinner at the Life Cafe. She accepts, and Maureen's protest, though hysterical, incites a riot...or was it the police who started it?
...
Anyway, finally united, Roger, Mark, Mimi, Maureen, Joanne, Angel and Collins all gather at the Life Cafe with some other well-wishers, and they run into Benny and his financial backers.
