Dr. Collins received his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and completed fellowships in hematology and medical oncology at Duke University.He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle and is board-certified in internal medicine.Dr. Collins leads the practice's clinical research program.At Duke University, he completed an oncology drug development fellowship studying drugs now in early phase clinical testing.This work involved using novel agents that target tumor angiogenesis, the process of new blood vessel formation.His research has been published in numerous medical journals and research publications.Dr. Collins is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Medical Association.
