Sandy Collins, a past president of the Athletic Boosters Club and chairman of the Panther Run, said students from the high school and the Plainfield Central School cross country teams will be among those making the run.

Sandy Collins, president of the Plainfield Athletic Booster Club, said Tuesday that the money raised by the Panther Plunge would help fund freshman basketball, a sport cut from the school budget, along with athletic awards, equipment and uniforms. The club also is hoping to raise enough money to restore spring golf, which also was eliminated during budget-cutting.
Collins said the club must give the school district a $5,000 check by Dec. 1 for the basketball program to be restored.
