Rebekah Collins Steps Down after Eight-year Term
FAIRFAX, CA - March 21, 2007 - Sustainable Fairfax, an educational non-profit promoting social, economic and environmental well-being in the town of Fairfax, has opened a search for a new president to lead the organization through an exciting period of expansion and deepening community involvement.
The executive board of Sustainable Fairfax encourages applications from candidates well-networked in the Marin community, with an emphasis on organizational management, civic involvement and environmental advocacy.This is a volunteer position, best suited for an individual with time to attend various events and act as a spokesperson for the organization.
The post becomes available with the departure of Rebekah Collins, the organization's co-founder, who had served as president since 1999.Though stepping down her role, Ms. Collins, a long-time global warming activist and founder of Marin CAN (Clean Alternative Energy Now), will continue working with Sustainable Fairfax in an advisory capacity.
"Rebekah Collins has been a visionary leader and a great support to Sustainable Fairfax," said Executive Director Pam Hartwell-Herrero.
