The employment status of Rebecca Collins, Hamilton County Prosecutor Mike Allen's former mistress -- and her sexual harassment lawsuit against him -- could be resolved as early as Wednesday.
Attorneys for Collins, Allen and Hamilton County will meet Wednesday with two agreed-upon mediators as all sides seek to settle Collins' suit before Jan. 3, when Joe Deters replaces Allen as prosecutor, a source familiar with the negotiations said.
...
Collins, an assistant prosecutor hired in 1999 by Allen as an intern, sued Allen a day after he publicly admitted Aug. 25 to a 3½-year extramarital affair with her.
She sued the married Allen, alleging she consented to his sexual advances for fear of losing her job because of his position of authority over her, his status as an older man, and his political clout. Her suit accuses Allen of sexually harassing and discriminating against her when she ended their affair.
Collins also sued Hamilton County, alleging the affair was so well known that county commissioners should have known she was being harassed by Allen and did nothing to stop it or help her.
Collins initially sought $3 million to not file her suit against Allen.
...
Commissioners have insisted they will pay nothing to Collins and that Allen should pay for the mess he created by having sex on public time in his office with a female subordinate. Allen later countersued Collins for $5 million.
The mediation agreement comes a week after the Ohio attorney general released a report that concluded Allen's actions toward Collins may have been unethical, but weren't illegal.
The report also cast doubt on Collins' assertions that her sex acts with Allen never were consensual. -

Rebecca Collins, a founder of Sustainable Fairfax, said her group is working to make a difference in global warming and electricity consumption. She said they have worked with the City of San Francisco to put together Proposition H, a 15-megawatt solar program, and are also working with the County of Marin on a resolution calling for a joint powers authority, "the Marin Local Energy Council," to be created as a structure by which a 20% reduction of all greenhouse gases within the county could be achieved by 2020. She said that MMWD, as the largest single user of electricity in the County, has a responsibility to support the resolution.
Paul Fenn, who authored Proposition H, urged the District to take a broad view of solar energy and give consideration to the proposal by Rebecca Collins.
