Maureen Collins was born in Youngstown - the daughter of Virginia and the late Raymond Collins. She attended Saint Christine Elementary School and went on to attend Ursuline High School as did her two sisters, Colleen and Kathleen, and her five brothers - Michael, Raymond, Thomas, Gary and Douglas. Following her graduation from Ursuline High School, Maureen taught music at Saint Christine Elementary School during the ‘70's and ‘80's. Throughout the ‘80's Maureen was also the musical director for many Ursuline productions which included Godspell, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Mame.

In addition to performing, Maureen has been a liturgical musician at Ursuline High School since 1997 and most recently was the alumni guest director for our centennial musical tribute to Ursuline theater ~ Broadway on Bryson. For over twenty years, Maureen has mentored hundreds of children in our area through her workshops on musical theater, and she continues to offer her summer children's workshop here at Ursuline. In 1993, she was voted Best of the Best by the Youngstown Vindicator as a person who makes a difference in our community, and she was honored by the YWCA as Woman of the Year in 1997. In 1994, she was inducted into the first class of the Ursuline High School Fine and Performing Arts Hall of Fame. Maureen is a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Youngstown.
