Collins is in third year at Chubbuck church
...
POCATELLO , Halfway into her third year as pastor of the Chubbuck Methodist Church, Rev. Marcie Collins finds herself with another position. She is the new leader of the Portneuf Valley Interfaith Fellowship for the coming year.
"I agreed to take the position at the November meeting," Collins said.
...
"The real value of a fellowship (like PIF) is in the ability to be a conduit of information," Collins said. "As long as I am making that happen, I will think I have done a good job."
Collins said by alternating the presidency from one faith to another PVIF keeps the burden from being on one community and makes all become a little more familiar with each other.
"I drive by other churches and never go in," she said.
...
Collins said the Methodist Church has been looking at longer pastorates. She spent five years in the assignment before coming to Pocatello.
The only time she doesn't like the Pocatello assignment is when it snows. "I was shoveling clear out in front of my mailbox," she said.
Then she mentioned in jest. -
