Albert Coffman is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pauline; daughter Linda Collins and husband Dan of Penn Valley, CA; son Keith Coffman-Grey and partner Neil of Santa Barbara, CA; grandsons DJ and Shawn Collins; great-grandchildren Bayley and Austin Collins; and faithful companion, Penny.
...
Lynn grew to adulthood in California, first in the Bay Area and later in Southern California. She was joined along the way by siblings - a sister, Peggy, and two brothers, John and David. Lynn graduated from Palos Verdes High School in 1964 and from UCSB in 1968. She loved Santa Barbara and felt a strong connection here. She was chosen "Miss Santa Barbara" in 1966 and represented the city in the "Miss California" pageant. She married Colin Shindler, an Englishman, in 1972 and lived in England for 30 years, where they raised a daughter, Amy, and a son, David. Lynn taught Special Education at St. Anthony's School in London and tutored children with learning disabilities, especially dyslexia, in her home. In 2002 she returned to Santa Barbara spending school terms teaching Special Education to students at Santa Barbara Jr. High School. Lynn taught all her pupils as if they were her own children. Her warm and caring voice encouraged them. She joined in death her brother, David. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Colin; her children Amy and David; her sister Peggy and her brother John; her parents Steve and Freda; and a host of relatives and friends. She departed this life too soon but her time on earth was well spent. Lynn is dearly loved and sorely missed. -
