Soroptimist Lauri Crocker presented the Women of Distinction award to Kathleen "Kit" Collins, honored her as a woman of exemplary character and integrity who has demonstrated outstanding ability and leadership in economic and social development.
Collins was the first women appointed to the Lakeview Town Council. She served two four-year terms as a Lake County commissioner, serving on the Lake County Road Department Committee and the Prison Advisory Committee.
She also was instrumental in getting the state to look at improving Highway 140 through the Warner Mountains. Currently, she is serving on the Education Service District board of directors.
