   JOYCE M. COLLINS received her Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, cum laude, from Northeastern University, Boston, MA in 1978 and her law degree from the New England School of Law, Boston, MA in 1986.Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked in the area of Public Health for Massachusetts General Hospital, and for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health as a Human Rights Officer and client advocate.She has practiced on Cape Cod, MA since 1987.Joyce concentrates her practice in the areas of Elder Law and Probate, particularly Estate Planning, Probate, Long Term Care (Medicaid) Planning, Assistance with MassHealth applications, Guardianship of the elderly, and Disability law.She has owned her own practice, specializing in Elder Law, since 2002.Ms. Collins is a member of the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the Barnstable County Bar Association.She has served on the Board of Directors Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands, served on the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer's Services of Cape Cod and the Islands from 2000 to 2006.She completed two terms on the Board of Directors of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and, also on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys serving as the Massachusetts Chapter President in 1995.She has written numerous articles and lectures frequently on many of the topics relating to Elder Law.    A graduate of the New England School of Law , Ms. Collins is a member of the American Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association , including the Probate Section and Medicaid subcommittee , as well as the Barnstable County Bar Association.
   
   Ms. Collins served on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys for five years , and as chapter president in 1995. She has also served as co-chair of the NAELA Public Relations Committee.
   
   NAELA was formed in 1988 to enhance the quality of legal services available to older persons in the United States. Members of NAELA are attorneys who have demonstrated experience and training in working with the legal problems of older Americans. NAELA currently has more than 3 , 400 members across the United States.
