Mrs. Collins was born Nov. 25 , 1926 , in Pikeville , a daughter of the late Noah and Gertrudie Tackett Newsome.
She was a retired nurse at Pikeville Methodist Hospital and a member of Caney Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband , Kelly Collins ; a daughter , Rita Hall Johnson of Jonancy ; two stepsons , Dwight Collins of Ashland and Hal Collins of Morehead ; two stepdaughters , Gwen Tackett of Virgie and Melody Akers of Robinson Creek ; three brothers , Fred Newsome of Burgin , Don Newsome of Harrodsburg , and Charles Newsome of Lawrenceburg ; two sisters , Oma Tabor of Arlington , Texas , and Bobbie Hampton of Versailles ; seven grandchildren ; and two great-grandchildren.
