    Dr. Collins has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Boston College and a medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.He completed his residency in internal medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.He also is a diplomate having completed the Mahler Advanced Management Training Course.

    Dr. Collins is affiliated with many professional organizations.He is a fellow with the American College of Physicians, a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and the Rensselaer County Medical Society, serves on the executive committee of the New York Health Plan Association's Medical Directors Division and is chair of the legislative committee.
