Collins was elected to the Board of Trustees in December 2003 and currently serves on the board's Quality of Patient Care, Finance, and Investment Committees.He is retired from Fleet NJ, where he was president for two years.Previously, he was vice chairman of Summit Bancorp for 15 years.
   
   A Colts Neck resident, he is a trustee of the Foundation of the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, and chairs its finance committee.He also serves on the board of directors of Provident Bank of Jersey City, the board of St. Peter's College in Jersey City, and the board of Collier Services in Marlboro.
