   Dr. Franklyn M. Collins, Ph.D, Chairman of the Board Dr. Collins is a recognized expert in the field of materials science and resistive technologies, specifically thick film materials for component applications. An author, speaker, and consultant, Dr. Collins co-founded Ohmtek in 1978 and co-founded Micropen in 1984. Dr. Collins received a B.S. in Physics from Michigan State University and a Ph.D in Physics from the University of Buffalo.

   Dr. Frank Collins, our founder, who had extensive experience in the precision resistor business, became enamored with the idea of using the MicroPen to make special precision resistors whose properties could not be achieved by other techniques. In 1990, Collins' vision was discussed among consultants, the board of directors and senior staff.
