   Eliza Joy Collins, instructor for bookbinding, spoon carving and block printing, has been a bosun on a Hudson River cargo sloop and built sea kayaks on Lake Champlain. She holds a studio art and environmental studies degree from Middlebury College, where she first fell in love with artistic and sculptural bookbinding. Her interest in crafts and the aesthetic challenges of designing functional objects grows with time. She has since worked and served as a resident host while taking post-graduate studies at the John C. Campbell Folk School.
