Collins To Speak at Shelbyville RotaryAbout Shelby Development Corporation

Eilene Collins, executive director of Shelby Development Corporation, will speak on Tuesday, April 11, to the Shelbyville Rotary Club.Rotary meets at noon at the Centenary United Methodist Church, corner of Washington and Fifth streets.

Collins has been executive director of the Development Corporation for seven years.The prior 17 years were with the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service as County Agent for Family Consumer Science.

Collins lives in Shelbyville.She is a graduate of Leadership Shelby and is very outspoken about the rewards of the program.Collins enjoys growing flowers and herbs in containers.Other leisure time is spent reading fiction and nonfiction on a variety of topics.

And it will make an old building attractive again,'' said Eilene T. Collins, executive director of the Shelby Development Corp. and director of the city's renaissance program.

Downtown development has long been a city priority, Collins said.The renaissance program, she said, has been a ''tremendous boost'' that will ''make the entire downtown even better.''
