Denise studied flute in Brisbane with James Carson and has played in the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, and has also worked in the pit orchestra for many professional musical productions for a period of 15 years.

Denise has performed as soloist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and has taught flute for the past 38 years in South East Queensland schools including St. Aidan's Anglican Girls' School, Anglican Church Grammar School, John Paul College, Coomera Anglican College, St. Stephen's College, and A.B. Paterson College.In her capacity of Music Specialist at these schools, she has conducted a variety of Ensembles, including Concert Bands, Flute Choirs, Wind Ensembles and Symphony Orchestras.
Denise is an examiner for A.N.Z.C.A, Australian Guild of Music Education, and Australian College of Music, and holds the position of Vice President and Music Co-ordinator for the Australian College of Music.As an examiner, she works throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales, and also travels to Malaysia and Singapore on a regular basis.
