   The new Millennium Charter Academy has announced the appointment of Debbie Collins and Joellen Folger Belton to its teaching staff for the upcoming 2000-01 school year.
   ...
   Collins is a Guilford College graduate and obtained her master's degree in elementary education at Gardner-Webb University. She has been employed as a classroom teacher from 1973 through the current year in the Mount Airy city schools and has taught kindergarten, first-grade, second-grade and a multi-age class comprised of K-1 students.
   
   She has received additional education in literacy training, computer instruction and multi-age education. Her professional activities include service on the Assessment Committee, Calendar Committee, SACS Curriculum Committee, Report Card Committee and serving as grade-level chairperson.
   
   Collins now teaches a multi-age class, K-1, at B.H. Tharrington Primary School in Mount Airy and is a member of the North Carolina Association of Educators.
