The Opportunity Center has named Cindy Collins as its new executive director. She assumed the role of chief operations officer for the center last month.
Collins and her family moved to Ponca City from Vinita, where she was the area director responsible for residential and vocational services for 200 developmentally disabled people at the Home of Hope.
In her service at Home of Hope, she helped develop and maintain Supported Living, Community Living, In-Home, Workshop, Community Employment, and Supported Employment services.
"I am pleased to be with the Opportunity Center in Ponca City," Collins said. "The center's excellent local reputation in the community and the quality of programs offered to those with disabilities in Kay County was exactly why I wished to become associated with this organization."
"Cindy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the service of individuals with developmental disabilities," said Phyllis Larson, president of the Opportunity Center board of directors.
