Before the flakes started flying Tuesday, Cass County Road Commission Manager Charles Collins said his employees would be prepared for the worst, even if it meant coming in on the holiday to keep county roads safe for motorists.
"We are going to be telling our people to be ready to come in at 5 a.m.," he said. "We might be short a couple of people, but I believe most of our employees are ready for this, even on a holiday."
Collins said that if the roads become slippery, crews will work as long as it takes to clear them. -
