Collins, a native of Wellington, Ohio was a captain of the Wellington Dukes football team that won the Lorain County Conference championship. After high school, Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Malone College in Canton, Ohio.
At Malone College, Brian was the "Voice of the Pioneers", serving the basketball team for four years, and the football team for two years. Before coming to ESPN Radio 1230 in Kinston last year, Brian had worked extensively in Ohio, serving stations WCER, Canton; WHLO, WTOF, Akron; WTIG, Massillion, and WYLI in Marietta.
Brian also has extensive print experience, with stops at The Wellington Enterprise, The Massillion Independent, The Canton Repository, and The Wooster Daily Record, all in Ohio.
Before coming to Kinston, Brian was employed by the The Wooster Daily Record and Kingsway Christian School in Orrville, Ohio. At Kingsway, Brian was the junior high basketball coach and assistant junior varsity coach. "Coach" Collins takes great pride in winning the O.C.A.C regular season and tournament championships with the junior high squad. Brian takes the most pride in his wife Lindsay and their son Jason.
