In November, 1959, His Excellency Joseph F. Rummel, Archbishop of New Orleans, blessed and dedicated the Convent for the Sisters, a modern brick building which was built under the direction of Rev. William I. Collins, S.M., twelfth pastor of St. Joseph. (Note: This building presently houses the administration office and the office of Religious Coordinator.)

During the years after the building of the first permanent school building, plans for the other units had been delayed for various reasons.But, in 1965, work on the plans was authorized by the Diocese.
