   Anadarko Qatar Energy vice-president (business development) Dr Barclay P Collins told Gulf Times that the exploration and production sharing agreement enabled Anadarko to launch an exploration phase involving technical studies, seismic reprocessing, acquisition of 2D and 3D seismic data and exploratory drilling. He spoke on the sidelines of an American Business Council meeting at the Marriott yesterday The Woodlands, Texas-based Anadarko has proven expertise in the development of hydrocarbon resources worldwide. The company has been assigned the task of operating the Al Rayyan Oil Field in Block 12, offshore Qatar, under an exploration and production sharing agreement. Dr Collins said should there be a significant find at Block 4, Anadarko would be able to pipe oil to the Al Morjan platform in the Al Rayyan Oil Field, which it operates.

Dr Collins said his company would conduct additional exploration in other offshore blocks, Block 13 in particular. "We hope to drill a well there in early 2005," Dr Collins said.
