Chris Collinge, Director Chris Collinge has been involved in the telecommunications industry since the 1980's when, as a Communications Officer, he became the youngest serving officer in the British Merchant Navy. After deciding to settle down on dry land, he completed his degree and further training before working in West Africa building a private national voice network.

Before moving to Australia in 1997 Chris ran a number of IT businesses in the UK. He established Techex Communications in Australia in 1997, just as the Internet was starting to gain momentum and become a useful business tool. When broadband availability arrived in Australia in 2001, Techex became one of the first companies supplying business grade broadband services to businesses around Australia.

Over the next few years Techex won numerous industry awards, was voted #2 best IT employer in Australia, and was the 11th fastest growing business in Australia as determined by the BRW Fast100. Techex was acquired by Destra Corporation late in 2004 where Chris remained as COO for 12 months.

Chris remains a director and shareholder of various Communications and Internet businesses and remains passionate about the industry and how it meets the constant challenges thrown at it with every new and exciting development that comes along.
