Roger enjoyed a great career with Canadian National as Supervisor in the Car Department. He retired in 1987 and thoroughly enjoyed all of his "retirement vacation" as he called it; with a large entourage of family, friends and so many activities too numerous to list. Roger and Corinne can say that they enjoyed ¨Paris in the Springtime¨ not so long ago and this was only one of the highlights. Local trips and time with their many and varied friends was what they enjoyed most. Roger was the recipient of the Governor General's Award for his contribution to the Scouting movement. He was a very talented and dedicated wood carver and shared his craft with many. So many evenings spent downstairs listening to good music on the radio until very late and quietly carving his projects. His artifacts will remain family treasures to be passed down for generations to come. His grandson is left to carry the torch and Pierre would always find a way to teach grandpa something new in the carving game. As his friends will tell you, with Roger you were always smiling, laughing and enjoying today. And if you had a chance to play cards with him; well! it always was very loud in the house; win or lose it didn't matter, everyone had a real fun time, just ask his grandkids; they all have stories to tell. "Laughing Out Loud" was his favorite thing to do. What we will all miss most is the one on one time he spent with all his boys, daughter and grandchildren. Father and son talks; yes daughter as well; some guidance but mostly like good friends as a family should be. You always knew he was proud of you, we hope to do as well as he did as a good person; a great role model he remains forever. We will strive to continue the tradition; "A real good man he was and will always be". Very proud we are to be known as one of "Roger's boys and daughter". Any man should be proud to have lived such a good and challenging life and what he leaves behind is a good strong family with character, pride and strength. Roger can leave knowing that he achieved the following: "A life well lived - a great success!" Thanks Dad.
