Jim Coles is the co-chair of the Intellectual Property Group and an influential leader in technology and business issues.Mr. Coles has vast experience with all types of intellectual property matters, including agreements involving intellectual property issues; and helps clients determine the breadth and value of their intellectual property assets through audit services and strategies for protecting and exploiting those assets.He is the founder of the ATAIN (Access Technology Across Indiana) consortium of nine Indiana-based research institutions: Indiana University, Purdue University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Ball State University, University of Notre Dame, Indiana State University, Methodist Hospital, Naval Surface Warfare Centers (Crane), and International Centers for Telecommunications Technology.Mr. Coles frequently assists clients with intellectual property and technology issues vital to their organizations.Recently, he negotiated the agreement between Computer Associations and the Indiana Court System (on behalf of the courts) for use of software linking the various courts.Mr. Coles has been a practicing attorney since 1974 and a partner with the firm since 1996.
