Jason Coles, vice president of port management for Port San Antonio, was named to the chairman's post in January. He will continue serving in his executive capacity with Port San Antonio as well.

Coles says he is excited about the appointment and feels it is an opportunity to enhance the aerospace community through cultivating greater awareness of the industry's contributions to the community.

"We have a lot of the same goals here at the port (and at the chamber) in building ... and maintaining what we have in the city," Coles says.

He adds that he will work to advance that mission through networking meetings and luncheons throughout the year.

In addition to the new chamber post, Coles will also spearhead the Greater Chamber's celebration of the 2010 centennial anniversary of the first military flight in San Antonio at Fort Sam Houston.

More details about the celebration will be released at a later date.
