"This (journey) is for all the military people regardless of where they're stationed at," says Terry Lee Colborn of Hondo, New Mexico, the organizer of the Final Ought Tour."It is to support their role and capacity."The journey will begin on May 4 in Hondo, New Mexico, and is set to conclude on November 11 in Washington, D.C.This will make for a 2,400-mile horse-and-buggy ride across the country. The one-way journey will cover 15-30 miles a day with Saturdays and Sundays off, following alongside major highways."After training and conditioning Final Eagle to drive the buggy, he was able to lead the whole journey to Washington, D.C. in 2000," says owner Colborn."I raised him from a baby.He is very good to me and he pulls his weight."It was during the 2000 journey that this year's "Pulling For Peace" theme evolved.Being an honorably discharged veteran himself, Colborn made a commitment to visit a memorial site each year. With the placing of a homemade wreath at the site, Colborn hopes to preserve the memory and honor those individuals for whom each memorial was built."With past journeys being solo, I am inviting various groups such as the Appaloosa Horse Club, 4-H, Future Farmers of America, etc., to participate in the Peace Parade," says Colborn.
