Naomi Cohen, Regional Director, Member Services

After serving as a passionate advocate for her own daughter who was diagnosed with cancer, Naomi Cohen decided to take her hard won skills and personal experiences and put them to work to help others find more comfort and confidence as they dealt with health issues and strived to reach their health goals.As a PinnacleCare Advocate serving Members in the New York metro area, she works tirelessly to help her Members successfully navigate the complex, confusing world of the health care system.In her capacity as Regional Director of Member Services in New York, Naomi supervises a team of advocates and is responsible for training New York advocates.

Her experience working with PinnacleCare Members with complex diagnoses has helped Naomi realize that every patient needs someone savvy, persistent and able to think outside the box to ensure that they not only receive the medical care they need but also receive the emotional support and encouragement that are essential during times of stress.An excellent listener and possessed of the ability to solve problems in the most high pressure situations, Naomi provides the full spectrum of support, guidance and active advocacy for each of her Members and their families.She also built excellent research skills gathering information on oncologists, treatment options, clinical trials, hospital policies and procedures and more while her daughter was ill and uses these skills to provide her Members with the information they need to make informed decisions.

Naomi is bilingual in English and French, having lived and worked for many years in Paris, France.She worked with French and American companies as a human resource consultant and also directed study abroad and internship programs for American students in Paris.In addition to coordinating academic programs and cultural activities, she was responsible for ensuring the psychological and medical well-being of her students, referring them to appropriate physicians in Paris and responding quickly to health crises as they arose, experiences that provide her with an understanding of the workings of international health care.
