    Michael I. Cohen entered Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, in 1973.During his studies, Michael was a member of the ODK Leadership Society and a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.Michael also served as the Student Representative of the university's Student Counsel.Michael obtained a Bachelor Degree in History and graduated with honors in 1977.After graduation, Michael worked as an admissions counselor as part of the admissions staff at Emory University for one year.

    In 1978, Michael entered the University of Colorado Law School.During law school, Michael was a member of the University of Denver Law Review and was President of his class in his second and third years.He also served as the Law School Representative to the Student Counsel of the university.During his last two years of law school, Michael worked at the Denver District Attorney's office as an intern in the appellate division.Michael obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1981 and was admitted to the practice of law as an attorney in the State of Colorado in 1981.

    In 1983, Michael was selected by the Denver Rotary Club as a representative of the Western District for the International Rotary Exchange Program, in which he was one of five (5) selected professionals to travel to Rome.He served as an ambassador for a six week exchange while providing professional visits to discuss the differences in the legal systems between Italy and the United States.

    In 1993, Michael began work for Meher Fund, Inc., a non-profit organization, as a member of the Board of Directors and presently serves as Treasurer of the Meher Fund, which provides funds for medical assistance in India.

    Michael enjoys spending time with his daughter and wife, the outdoors, bicycling, running, swimming, white water rafting, playing guitar and both continental and international travel.In 1987, he took a six month sabbatical with his wife, Jan, and traveled around the world including a month long bike tour in Italy; one month in India to visit and work with the Meher Fund project; one month in Nepal, including a trek through Nepal; a month in Thailand; and a month in Hong Kong, Beijing and several other cities in China; finally ending up in Hawaii before returning to Colorado.

    An interesting fact about Michael: He was a professional raft guide on the Arkansas River for one season and led raft trips through the Royal Gorge.
