Jason Cohen is a special counsel in the Financial Restructuring Department in the New York office.Mr. Cohen focuses his practice on representing debtors, individual creditors, and official and unofficial creditors' committees in all aspects of Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and out,of,court financial restructurings.

Mr. Cohen recently represented the unofficial bondholder committees of Arch Wireless Communications, RSL Communications, Ltd., Pathmark Stores, Inc., TransTexas Gas Corp., and Florida Coast Paper Holding Co., as well as the official creditors' committees of Winstar Communications and Grove Worldwide.He also represents Burger King Corporation in connection with the restructuring of a number of its franchisees, including the chapter 11 case of AmeriKing, Inc., Burger King's second largest franchisee.Mr. Cohen also recently represented certain Glencore International AG subsidiaries in connection with their restructuring of an Australian nickel and cobalt mine, Geneva Steel Company in its bankruptcy case, and Ace Financial Solutions, Inc., an insurance company, in connection with its issuance of a distribution pool insurance policy in the Montgomery Ward bankruptcy case.

Mr. Cohen received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Connecticut in 1993, and Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 1997.

He is admitted to practice before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and in the State of New York.Mr. Cohen is a Contributing Editor for the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal.

Jason CohenMr. Cohen recently joined the firm as a Vice President in the firm's Distressed Advisory and Restructuring practice.Mr. Cohen has 10 years of experience in all facets of both in-court and out-of-court restructurings.

Prior to joining Goldsmith Agio Helms (now Lazard Middle Market), Mr. Cohen was Special Counsel in the Financial Restructuring Department of the law firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP.While at Cadwalader, Mr. Cohen represented debtors, individual creditors, official creditors' committees, unofficial bondholder committees and other parties in interest in numerous restructurings involving companies in multiple industries, including, the chapter 11 cases of Solutia Inc., Quigley Company, Inc., AmeriKing, Inc., Winstar Communications, Pathmark Stores, Inc., RSL Communications, Ltd., Arch Wireless Communications and Geneva Steel Company.

Mr. Cohen received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Connecticut and Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School.Mr. Cohen is a member of the New York state bar.
