Melanie started with PMCOD in 2003, working part-time in the kennel area. She now works full-time as a Technician Assistant and also helps anywhere else she is needed. She treats all of the animals as if they were her own.

Her daughter, Elizabeth, keeps Melanie and her husband, Chris, on their toes. To help with that, Melanie and her family adopted a Lynx point Siamese cat named "Rags" from Tri-City Animal Shelter. He & Elizabeth keep each other busy! Melanie shared a story with us one day that Elizabeth came onto the room crying. When they asked her what was wrong, Elizabeth said "Rags" won't leave my room". We all got a kick out of that! The newest member of their family is "Fara". She is "Kit" & "Sunshine's" litter-mate and has added a new level of fun and excitement to Melanie's family!

Melanie attended and graduated from Cedar Valley College's Veterinary Technician program. She has been a jewel in our crown and a treasure that we hope to keep for years to come.
