Clevenger succeeds Ossie Benitah, who is moving to Seattle after working in Student Activities since 1995.

Clevenger was informed of the news late on Friday, Jan. 26, but the formal announcement was delayed until last week.

"She has been an amazing boss to work for," Clevenger said.He has worked under Benitah since February 2004, when he joined the staff of Embry-Riddle.

Since then, in addition to serving as Greek Life Advisor, he has also overseen the Volunteer Network and served as an advisor for The Avion newspaper and as an interim advisor for the Embry-Riddle Resident Student Association.

During his tenure as Greek advisor, Clevenger oversaw the Embry-Riddle installations of the Pi Kappa Alpha chapter in 2004 and the Sigma Sigma Sigma chapter in 2006.

Before the Christmas Day tornado forced Clevenger to concentrate on the campus recovery of Eagles FM and the Avion, Clevenger also served as the chair of the local Relay for Life 2007.

Clevenger holds a bachelor's degree in interpersonal communication and a master's degree in student affairs, both from the University of Central Florida.

With Clevenger taking over Benitah's position, the search has begun for someone to fill his old position.This is in addition to a continuing search for a new Assistant Director for Housing and Residence Life, which would represent ERRSA.

"Not everybody gets the opportunity to get promoted in the university where they have already worked," Clevenger said, "so I feel very lucky that Dean Taylor has given me the opportunity to work in a university that I already know."

Aaron Clevenger is the Assistant Director of Student Activities and is primarily responsible for advising the Greek Life community comprised of fourteen fraternities and sororities.He oversees all major operations of Greek Life including scholarship programming, leadership development, various community service projects, recruitment, and risk management training.
